Niki and Peter’s gorgeously overcast Chicago engagement session is seriously one of my favorites from 2019. Yes, I said 2019. Yikes! I mentioned before in previous blogs how I need to share more, and one area that really needs exposure is our engagement session travels.
We mostly work with couples who book us for weddings, and Niki and Peter are no exception! One of our favorite things is traveling back home to Chicago. While we will travel anywhere our couples want us, Chicago is our first home and will always have a special place in our heart. Not to mention 98% of our family and friends are there.
As a result we spend a lot of time there during the summer (right smack dab in the middle of wedding season!), and truly any reason to go home and have the opportunity to visit family and friends is something we are seriously grateful for!
Anyway, back to this day! It’s always a challenge when traveling for work, on a fixed schedule if the weather decides to not corporate with our plans. Thankfully in this case, the weather held out as much as it could right up until the very end of our session. That was a win for me! And not just for me as far as not ruining our session, but a win with how amazing it made the photos turn out too!
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, rain is not always a bad thing!
Niki and Peter were so awesome to work with, and had so many great ideas for locations. I love when couples pick locations that area special to them. In this case, these two love Roscoe Village and so it was a must that we got photos in their favorite neighborhood, along with one of my favorite areas Olive Park.
We can NOT wait for their 2020 summer wedding in Geneva!
